Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Standing Out in a Sea of People

Trip Advisor Series 2016 WDW–Standing Out in a Sea of People   April 9 2016–I was there at Walt Disney World to attend a medical conference that was held at the Coronado Resort from Saturday – Wednesday.  Let me first say that with so many people, activities and stimuli, it’s really easy to get into the mode where all you see are people and not the person!  You are literally herded from one breakout session to another, swimming upstream to…

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Disney Vacation Club

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Disney Vacation Club (DVC)   April 7, 2016–I’ve been researching Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership since 2014 so I wanted to see some of the resorts in person.  I scheduled a DVC tour and was chauffeured to Saratoga Springs Resort for a first-hand look had what I’ve been researching. I was greeted with a light breakfast, given a DVC name tag, paired with a tour guide, and walked through some full-sized models of three resorts.  It…

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Birthday Drummers!

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Birthday Drummers!   April 7, 2016–While pinching my pennies at Walt Disney World, I wanted to see new things so I took the Disney shuttle and got off at Kidani Village.  I explored the lobby and other rooms with public access and found myself on the second floor walking into an observation room where you can watch the animals (giraffes, zebras, etc.). Two very handsome young men whose smiles lit up the entire room greeted me…

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Titanic, The Experience

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–I Danced with the Captain!   April 8, 2016–My conference roommate took me off Disney property to attend the “Titanic, The Experience” located just minutes away on International Drive.  This is an interactive dinner show dedicated to the memory of those who were lost and those who survived the sinking of the Titanic.  We received a “Boarding Pass” ticket or card representing a real passenger that we were to role-play if we wanted to participate.  Oddly…

Trip Advisor Series: 2016 WDW–Parkless!!

Trip Advisor Series:   2016 WDW–Parkless, Is it Possible?   April 6, 2016–Walt Disney World is wonderful, but expensive.  I was on my first trip to WDW for a medical conference and money was too tight for me to go into any of the Theme Parks. This did not slow me down whatsoever!  There is so much to do and explore for inexpensive (or free) that I never felt like I was cheated.  In fact, I ran out of time…

Trip Advisor Series:   2016 WDW–Disney’s Magical Express (DME)   April 6, 2016–When you book a hotel reservation at one of the Walt Disney World resorts, you can take advantage of the FREE Disney’s Magical Express (DME).  It’s a bus that picks you up at Orlando International Airport (MCO), takes you to your hotel, drops off your luggage, and when it’s time to leave they will pick up your luggage and drop you off at MCO.  This will save you…

Trip Advisor Series: 2015 Las Vegas–Planet Hollywood

Trip Advisor Series: 2015 Las Vegas–Planet Hollywood

Trip Advisor Series: 2015 Las Vegas–Planet Hollywood   May, 2015–I attended the Profit Academy seminar held in the Ballrooms of Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip over Memorial Day weekend, 2015.  This is a massive property! I think it’s a perfect location (free parking) to enjoy the Strip, which is an absolute must-see at night! Beautiful architecture, well-planned traffic flow, shopping and entertainment everywhere you look.  The Bellagio across the street had an amazing, but short, water fountain show….

What Were You Doing At 18?

What Were You Doing At 18?

So, what were you doing at 18? Last weekend I went to our local theater and attended a public showing of a cowboy movie fully filmed and casted by a bunch of local homeschoolers (with the help of some “older” folks) with a $4,000 budget.  I was expecting inferior quality all around:  acting, music, sound, video, storyline, etc.  What a complete shock!! These kids created a full-length, mostly family-friendly movie (some gun violence) with amazing horsemanship and breathtaking scenery shots,…
