2016 WDW–Standing Out in a Sea of People
April 9 2016–I was there at Walt Disney World to attend a medical conference that was held at the Coronado Resort from Saturday – Wednesday. Let me first say that with so many people, activities and stimuli, it’s really easy to get into the mode where all you see are people and not the person! You are literally herded from one breakout session to another, swimming upstream to get to the next venue.
On the first evening of the conference, I met Virgilio! Virgilio looked me in the eyes and greeted me like a person. He recognized me and greeted me with a warm and welcoming smile every time my path crossed his. This superior customer service continued throughout the conference until Wednesday, when we were practically joking with each other!
Do you realize how many people this man must have seen all day, every day, throughout the course of his service with the convention side of The Coronado? And he treated me not only as though I was a person–but a good friend!
TIP: Do yourself a favor–the next time you feel like passing by “the staff”, DON’T! You are truly missing out on enriching your life by meeting someone like Virgilio!
Thank you, Virgilio! YOU ARE AWESOME!!
