2017 Branson, MO–Mel’s Hard Luck Diner and Grand Village Shops

July 8, 2017–I attended the First Annual Bucket List Rebellion held at the Coastal Vacations Travel Club regional conference at the Clarion Hotel. Almost everyone else paid for the $30 coaching luncheon session. But, I thought that was a little too pricey for lunch. Some people suggested that I eat at the hamburger joint next door–they have singing waiters. I DID NOT WANT hamburgers but I went anyway–and I’m really glad that I did!

Jaci Rae and her CD “Woman Enough”

Tons of memorabilia from the music world line the walls in Mel’s Hard Luck Diner. Each of the wait staff must have a CD in order to be hired. They take turns singing to you as they bring food and drinks to the tables.

I was lunching by myself which can easily make a person feel out of place. But, my waitress, Jaci Rae, took me under her wing and made sure everything was just right.  I had the cod and French Fries.  Although it was good, I wished I had chosen something a little more healthy–but at least it wasn’t a hamburger!!

Jaci Rae sang the song, “You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man!”, which is probably why her CD is called “Woman Enough”. Fantastic, personalized customer service, with great entertainment!

I bought her CD and spent more than I would have if I had just decided to go to the coaching lunch session. But, I think it was totally worth it to support Jaci in the pursuit of her dream! Also, THANK YOU, JACI RAE, for caring enough to make my day!!

GRAND VILLAGE SHOPS–Mel’s Hard Luck Diner is located at the entrance to the Grand Village. It is next door to the Clarion Hotel where I was staying and attending a 3-day training.

When I was finished with my lunch at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner, I walked around the Village. I had no idea that this was here.  Such a cute and relaxing stroll with plenty of little shops to browse through.  Benches dot the paths so you can sit and “people-watch”.  What a wonderful find!!
